Overview:

During this week you will explore the exciting world of maps. It is said that maps are the language of geography and they can portray the numerous physical and human features on Earth in a variety of ways.

A map is a graphic representation of Earth or parts of it which are drawn to a particular scale.  While maps distort certain properties, a spherical globe is a model which represents Earth more or less in its true shape and form at a greatly reduced scale.

Get acquainted with different types of maps and understand how to read, analyze and interpret maps by clicking on The World of Maps.
