After completing the reading assignment, select two of the following groups of questions and write a 500 word essay on each set.  Be sure to answer each of the questions in each set.

Set 1 -

Which crops did the Amerindians of Mesoamerica contribute to the world and what differences have they made?  What kinds of agriculture were emphasized after the Spanish conquest?

Set 2 -

What are the geographic differences between Mainland and Rimland?  Compare and contrast  the cultures of Mainland and Rimland Middle America?

Set 3 -

Who were the Maya, Aztec and Inca? Where were their civilizations centered? What were some of their many contributions to the development of culture and society during their times and which ones have endured to the present day?

Set 4 -

How fast is South American urbanization increasing?  Why does the migration toward cities remain so high today? Name and describe the land-use zones of the  "Latin" American city model.
